CosmicNavigation - Pre- and On route solutions

CosmicNavigation is the largest developer and producer of private label Personal Navigation Devices in the world. Online navigation is an important channel for CosmicNavigation to distribute it's unique navigation content. Through a partnership with Routenet, Cosmic now offers the most accurate and detailed european routeplanner. The solution also holds a realtime traffic feed, that includes a nationwide network of webcams. (Netherlands only)

The recreational navigation content, such as cycling routes and marine navigation is also available online. Users are able to create and share their routes and maps online. This content can be exported to PND or mobile GPS products.

Navigation content is becoming increasingly important in the world of navigation. Previously this businessline focused on Speedtrap databases and special POI sets, but it has now expanded to more recreational data. CosmicNavigation has created marinemaps and cycling routes together with it's partners. This data is not only suitable for Cosmic's own products, but it is also compatible with TomTom and Garmin products. A unique engine has been developed by Cosmic which allows users to create and share marine and cycling routes which then can be printed or exported to a TomTom, Garmin or one of Cosmic's brands.

CosmicNavigation has released a line of content products under the brandname TripAtlas (EU and USA).

CosmicNavigation wants to make all the content it has gathered available to a large audience. Cosmic is communicating with a large userbase and is aiming to expand the means to communicate with people who are travelling by car, boat or bicycle. Therefor, Cosmic has launched a LIVE information Hotline for people who to talk to an operator who gives them instant information on what's happening along their rout and at their location. But it's also possible to ask questions about locations, phonenumbers, news, weather etc.
The first Hotline which has been launched in May 2009 is the Onderweg Hotline (Alongtheway Hotline), 0900-463 3456. It's only available in the Netherlands and makes use of all publicly available sources, such as the Yellow pages, google, Onderweg.nl, TomTom.com, Government Traffic pages, weather sites etc etc
